TEACHING LOCATION OF THE DEGREE PROGRAM

In order to be admitted to the course it is necessary to be in possession of an upper secondary school qualification or another qualification obtained abroad, following at least 12 years of schooling, recognised as suitable by the competent bodies of the University.

The Study Course in Health Care is subject to programmed access, in order to guarantee the quality of the teaching offer in relation to the available resources.
An admission test is provided for and, therefore, selection is based on the outcome of the test itself.
The number of eligible students, the timing, methods and contents of the admission test are determined annually by ministerial decree.

The Degree Course in Health Assistance at the University of Brescia has decades of experience in the training of Health Care Assistants and makes use of the best research and teaching strategies oriented towards prevention and health promotion.

At the end of their studies, each student will be able to identify, assess and apply the best techniques to support the wellbeing of the community, to implement strategies aimed at fostering conscious health choices among citizens, among other operators (health, social and school), among workers, in families and throughout the community.

The Course also encourages students to develop their thesis work abroad.

The Degree Course aims to train health professionals able to act with technical-professional autonomy but also to collaborate with other operators (health, social and school).
The objective is to train figures capable of:

  • collaborating in the implementation of public health protection initiatives in various fields of activity, e.g. collaborating in the planning of cancer screening campaigns;
  • implementing specific family and community support interventions by activating network resources, also in collaboration with general practitioners and other operators in the area. For example, in family advice centres, promoting and protecting the health of women, children, couples and families;
  • designing, planning, implementing and evaluating health education interventions at all stages of a person's life, such as health education interventions in schools, to collaborate in the implementation of projects such as the 'Pedibus' or the 'Life Skill Training Program';
  • carry out, with technical and professional autonomy, prevention, verification and control activities in the field of hygiene and environmental safety in living and working environments, food and beverage hygiene, hygiene and public health. For example, in the field of occupational medicine, prevention of work-related pathologies and health education of workers.
