As of the 2025/2026 academic year, access to the first semester of the single-cycle degree courses in Medicine and Surgery (LM-41), Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (LM-46) and Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) is free and without an entrance test, in accordance with the procedures set out in Legislative Decree no. 71/2025.
The new method of admission to the Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine courses envisages enrolment in the first semester, the so-called filter semester, with three courses - Chemistry and Biochemistry propaedeutics, Physics and Biology - of 6 University Educational Credits (CFU) each.
At the end of the filter semester, there are two examination appointments for each course and on the basis of the marks obtained in the examinations of the filter semester, the Ministry of University and Research draws up a national merit list with the list of those admitted to the second semester of the course.
Classes will begin on 1 September 2025 in presence and online teaching mode with compulsory attendance. In particular, from 1 September to 3 October there will be 4 hours of lessons in the morning or afternoon in presence and online. Classroom participation is the preferred modality, as it favours more effective interaction, direct comparison and a higher quality of the training experience.
From 6 October to 7 November, the lessons will be delivered online in synchronous mode.
Class attendance is compulsory.
Lessons are delivered in two groups divided according to the alphabetical criterion of surname AL and MZ; exchanges from one group to another are not possible. Group assignment will be announced on 25/08/2025

If you are in the conditions provided for by the regulations, you must send the request for exemption no later than 25/08/2025 by filling in the Google Form Recognition of attendance for the filter semester courses.
Documentation to be attached to the request for exemption: you must have documentation proving attendance and/or passing the exam for which you are requesting recognition;

The examinations of the three filter semester courses will be held on the same date and at the same time in all the universities where the filter semester is offered. There will be two calls for examinations:
first call: 20 November 2025, 11:00 a.m.
second call: 10 December 2025, 11:00 a.m.
The examinations last 45 minutes each, a break of 15 minutes will be granted between each examination.
Each examination test will consist of the administration of thirty-one (31) questions, of which fifteen (15) will be multiple-choice and sixteen (16) will be answer by completion mode.
The examination papers shall be graded in thirtieths, in addition to honours, which shall be given the value of one point. For the purposes of inclusion in the national merit list, marks shall be awarded as follows:
- 1 point for each correct answer;
- 0 points for each omitted answer;
- minus 0.10 (- 0.10) points for each incorrect answer
A maximum of ninety-three (93) points shall be awarded for the overall assessment of the three examination papers.
