PhD graduates in Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology, and Experimental Medicine will possess the competencies required to enter public and private research institutions in Italy and abroad where advanced expertise in molecular genetics, biotechnology, and forensic medical sciences is in demand. As previously, the doctoral program is structured into three curricula. Given the specific features of the three fields, each curriculum provides clearly defined academic and professional career opportunities. Admission of doctoral candidates to the different curricula is based on their personal motivation and the expertise acquired in these particular research areas, as assessed by the faculty board. Naturally, as the program is an “experimental” doctoral degree, some variations may occur in response to the evolving developments of research across the respective areas of specialization.
- To encourage research stays in laboratories other than their home institution, particularly abroad, in order to further enhance the adaptability and collaborative skills of early-stage researchers.
- To promote the development of language proficiency so as to facilitate the international mobility increasingly required in today’s global research environment.
