Graduating

The final exam consists of the presentation of an individual written paper in accordance with the Course Teaching Regulations.

The written paper may alternatively concern:
•   activities carried out during internships or training placements at public or private companies, professional firms, consultancy companies, consulting firms, auditing firms, public bodies, institutions and non-profit organisations;
•   participation in specific training projects promoted within or outside the university.

If a student is writing the thesis in collaboration with a company but without an internship or training agreement, and the student only occasionally visits the company's offices, it is necessary to contact the Servizi Didattici Economia office (by opening a ticket at: https://servicedesk.unibs.it/) for insurance requirements.

Final exam procedures for students of the Bachelor's Degree programme in Economics and Digital Firm graduating from July 2026, subject to any extensions granted by the University.

THE FINAL EXAM
The final exam consists of the discussion of a report on a topic related to the Course of Study, in order to assess the student's capacity for critical analysis and informed presentation. The topic may relate to the internship, educational projects or in-depth study of the teachings attended.

START OF THE PROCEDURE
Students who have acquired at least 120 credits must identify a Supervisor belonging to a scientific-disciplinary sector corresponding to one of the courses included in their study plan.

The student agrees with the Supervisor on the title of the thesis and the course to which the chosen topic is linked.  The Supervisor must be a member of the Examination Board for the specific course. The Supervisor guides the student in the development of the chosen topic, providing methodological support and supervising all the preparation work for the discussion.

The online procedure consists of two phases:
Phase I: Submission of the title – at least 90 days before the start of the graduation session.
Submission of: the title of the chosen topic, Supervisor’s name and the associated course.

Phase II: Final exam discussion application – at least 45 days before the start of the graduation session.
Submit the discussion application for the chosen topic, along with the title page and a summary report (max. 500 words) of the topic developed with the Supervisor. The final report is no longer required.

FINAL EXAM DISCUSSION
The discussion takes place in person, in a public session, at least 10 days before the graduation session, in front of an Evaluation Committee composed of at least two members, including the Supervisor and the Chair of the Examination Committee for the related course.

During the discussion, the student’s ability to critically analyse the topic developed and to discuss it in an informed manner will be thoroughly assessed. The exam will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
If the outcome is unsatisfactory, the final exam may be repeated only once during the same academic year.

DEGREE AND FINAL GRADE
Student will be invited to attend the first graduation session following the completion of all the credits required in their study plan. All credits required in the study plan, except those assigned for the final exam, must be earned at least 15 days before the start of the graduation session.

The proclamation will be announced by the Graduation Committee in a public session.

The final grade (out of 110) will be calculated as the sum of:
- the weighted average of exam grades (excluding the lowest grades up to 18 credits),
- the final exam score,
- an overall evaluation of the student's academic career.
If the Graduation Committee proposes honours and the resulting score is 110, the Graduation Committee, taking into account the student's entire academic career, may unanimously grant honours if the conditions are fulfilled.
