The Degree Programme in Midwifery prepares healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for women, newborns, and families throughout the reproductive life cycle, from preconception and pregnancy to childbirth, the postnatal period, and gynaecological care.

Students develop the knowledge and clinical skills required to support physiological pregnancy and childbirth, monitor maternal and fetal well-being, promote newborn health, breastfeeding, and family-centred care, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

The programme also equips students to identify risk factors, recognise situations requiring specialist intervention, and provide evidence-based care in both routine and complex clinical settings. Particular emphasis is placed on communication, counselling, health education, and culturally sensitive care.

Clinical placements play a central role in the curriculum, allowing students to gain extensive hands-on experience in obstetric, gynaecological, and neonatal care under professional supervision. Students also develop competencies in research, professional ethics, healthcare management, and interprofessional collaboration, preparing them for autonomous and responsible professional practice.

Graduates are qualified to promote women's health, provide maternity and newborn care, support reproductive health, and contribute to health education and disease prevention initiatives across a variety of healthcare settings.
