Graduating

In this section the student can find all the information related to the procedures for submitting the thesis title, graduation application, how to conduct the test, and much more.

Final Exam

The student identifies a faculty advisor, determines the title of the exam, and identifies the course to which the chosen topic is related.

The Final Exam consists of the following phases.

1. Academic Activity

The student is required to complete an academic activity consistent with the objectives of the degree program. This activity may consist of one of the following options:

  • In-depth study of a subject: exploration of a topic within a course, under the supervision of an advisor;
  • Internship or work placement: participation in an experience at companies or public or private entities outside the University. The university tutor may also serve as the advisor;
  • Project-based activities: participation in activities promoted by the University or carried out in collaboration with external organizations. The internal tutor may also serve as the advisor.

2. Final Report

The activity carried out must be documented in a final report:

  • the report is generally written; in the case of graphic designs or prototypes, a descriptive report is still required;
  • it may be written in Italian or English;
  • the maximum length is 30 pages or two A0-sized panels/posters.

3. Final Exam Discussion

The final exam consists of:

  • an oral presentation of the content of the project carried out and documented in the report;
  • a critical discussion with the Evaluation Committee specifically appointed

4. Requirements for Admission to the Final Exam

A student may take the final exam if they still need to earn:

  • the 3 CFU for the final exam;
  • a maximum of 6 additional CFU as specified in the Academic Regulations.

The date of the final exam is agreed upon with the advisor.

  • the required academic credits for admission must be earned by the specified deadlines.

6. Requirements for Admission to the Degree Examination

At least fifteen days before the graduation ceremony, the student must have:

  • earned all the required academic credits (i.e., passed all exams required by the study plan and passed the final examination);

The final test regulation

In the regulation you can find guidance regarding the rules for the development and submission of the thesis title, application for admission to the final examination, delivery of the thesis, and evaluation.

THESIS ABROAD

The University of Brescia offers students enrolled in the last year of a master's or bachelor's degree program the opportunity to develop their degree thesis / final report at a university of their choice across the world.

THESIS IN THE COMPANY

In the case where the student has carried out internship activities, the final test may concern the activity carried out and the results obtained at the structure (public or private company, research centers or university laboratories, institutions, professional orders) that hosted him/her.

The “intern” student will be able to continue his or her work as a “thesis student” by doing the thesis in the company with a supervisor from the University of Brescia.
