For students in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 cohorts, only the final graduation exam is required, which does not qualify them for professional licensure. To obtain professional licensure, students must pass the state exam. Students in these cohorts may request a change in the academic program to be placed on the same footing as students in the 2023/24 cohort (degree leading to professional qualification).
For students in the 2023/24 cohort and subsequent cohorts, the final degree exam qualifies them to practice the profession and consists of two parts:
- The Practical Assessment Test (PPV)
- The Final Degree Examination
Upon passing the PPV and receiving a passing grade, students are eligible to take the final examination during the session of their choice.
Upon passing the final examination to earn the degree, students are qualified to practice as a Graduate Industrial Engineer.

THESIS ABROAD
The University of Brescia offers students enrolled in the last year of a master's or bachelor's degree program the opportunity to develop their degree thesis / final report at a university of their choice across the world.
THESIS IN THE COMPANY
In the case where the student has carried out internship activities, the final test may concern the activity carried out and the results obtained at the structure (public or private company, research centers or university laboratories, institutions, professional orders) that hosted him/her.
The “intern” student will be able to continue his or her work as a “thesis student” by doing the thesis in the company with a supervisor from the University of Brescia.
