The Degree Programme in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques prepares healthcare professionals who perform diagnostic and research laboratory activities in areas such as biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, toxicology, and clinical pathology.

Students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to support the diagnostic process, ensuring the quality and reliability of laboratory analyses, managing laboratory equipment, and contributing to research and innovation in healthcare.

The programme combines classroom teaching with extensive laboratory and clinical placement experiences. During the first year, students build a foundation in biomedical sciences and laboratory methods. In the second year, they develop skills in specialised diagnostic fields, including pathology, immunology, microbiology, and toxicology. In the third year, they focus on advanced areas such as molecular biology and immunohaematology, while strengthening their research, teamwork, and professional skills.

Clinical placements play a key role throughout the programme, allowing students to progressively develop autonomy and professional responsibility in real laboratory settings.
