Career

The professional qualification of PhD Doctors in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering allows them to hold positions of responsibility in the management and coordination of research and development activities in industry and academia, such as:

- Conducting, coordinating, and directing research within organizations and companies operating in the fields of research and development, manufacturing, design, and development of production equipment.

- Researchers and/or research project managers at universities and public or private research institutions.

- Coordinating research programs supported by legislation or national or European public bodies. Preparing the required documentation and managing the program are currently a form of specialization acquired empirically by consulting firms or banking institutions that could greatly benefit from PhDs.

- Management of technological innovation in the many sectors where this requires specific knowledge and skills, such as the need for good basic mathematical preparation, the ability to develop simulation and analytical models of the phenomena to be described, the ability to validate them experimentally and, finally, to apply them to solving problems posed by industrial reality
