Studying

The course is divided into two years: a first year, common for all students, during which they acquire skills in the following SSD: SPS/10, IUS/13, M-DEA/01, SECS-P/01, IUS/20 , IUS/11 and a second year in which students can choose from four different specialist profiles. Every year the course is divided into two semesters, each including 12 weeks of teaching activity

The first profile, "Peace Building", aims to provide specific skills in the analysis and management of conflict transformation at micro, medium and macro levels (SPS/14) (i.e. interpersonal conflicts, wars between states, etc.) (SSD SPS/03, IUS/13 and SPS/14).

The second profile, "Humanitarian cooperation", aims to provide specific skills for understanding the conceptual and political aspects of economic, technological and environmental phenomena that have influenced the development and well-being of individuals and societies, in line with sustainability, the rights of future generations and the most vulnerable people and populations (SSD SPS/10, SPS/07 and IUS/13).

The third profile, "Cooperation and Civil Protection", aims to provide methods for managing emergencies and disasters, identifying crisis situations and strengthening the resilience and well-being of communities in emergency situations, from a preventive perspective (SPS SPS/10, SPS/08, IUS/10 and SECS-P/08).

The fourth profile "Peaceful Conflict and Terrorism Management" aims at managing and coordinating the non-violent resolution of conflicts, triggered by social, economic, environmental or cultural frictions, at local or international level, with a focus on the prevention of terrorist conflicts and the management of post-terrorist situations (SSD SPS/09, IUS/21, SECS-P/02 and IUS/18).
