TEACHING LOCATION OF THE DEGREE PROGRAM

In order to be admitted to the Degree Course in Professional Education, it is necessary to hold a five-year secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable according to current regulations.

The Study Course in Professional Education has a restricted access, pursuant to Article 4 of Law no. 264/99.
The number of students admitted is determined on the basis of national programming and the availability of teaching staff, teaching facilities (classrooms, laboratories) and care facilities that can be used to conduct practical activities in the department.
Admission to the Course of Study is subject to an admission test, which consists of multiple-choice questions and is taken on the date indicated in the appropriate notice, which governs admission.

Pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08 and subsequent amendments and additions, each student will undergo an assessment of his/her psycho-physical suitability to carry out the activities of the specific professional profile.

The Professional Educator is the social and health worker who implements specific educational and rehabilitative projects aimed at a balanced development of the personality with educational/relational objectives in a context of participation and recovery in daily life; he/she takes care of the positive psycho-social insertion or reintegration of subjects in difficulty.

The training provided tends to provide scientific knowledge, methodologies and techniques, acquisition of experience leading to critical intervention skills and the consequent assumption of a specific educational professionalism.

The degree is qualifying for the exercise of the profession.

As part of the training pathway created to prepare the Professional Educator, students will be provided with adequate preparation in the basic disciplines, such as to enable them to better understand the most relevant elements that underlie the pathological processes on which their rehabilitation and/or therapeutic intervention is focused in the developmental, adult and geriatric age. Knowledge will be provided to be able to use at least one European Union language, in addition to Italian, in the specific field of competence and for the exchange of general information.

Particularly important, as an integral and qualifying part of professional training, is the practical training activity and clinical internship, carried out with at least 60 CFU under the supervision and guidance of specially assigned professional tutors, coordinated by a lecturer belonging to the highest level of training envisaged for the specific professional profile.

Graduates of the degree in Professional Education are professionals in the social and health care area. They carry out their professional activities in public or private social-health care and social-educational facilities and services, on the territory, in residential and semi-residential facilities on a dependent or freelance basis.
